Opening Address By The Executive Director At The 9th Graduation Ceremony
Distiquished quests, Chairman of Creative Brains Academy, Our Indefatigable Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Chairman and his team, dedicated staff, supportive parents, esteemed students and most importantly, the Stars of today, our wonderful, resilient, and exceptionally talented graduating students, Good morning, and a very warm welcome to you all. It is with a heart overflowing with gratitude to the Almighty that I stand before you today on this auspicious occasion of our Annual Speech and Prize-Giving Day. I am over joyed seeing the vibrant colors of our parents/ guardians, the proud smiles on their faces as well as the bright, eager eyes of our students to kick start the celebration. Operating an educational institution and supporting children’s education in Nigeria today is not a task for the faint-hearted. Together, with the resilient Nigerian spirit that refuses to break, we did not just survive this academic year; we thrived, navigated the waves of inflation, fluctuating costs, and the general anxieties that come with living in a developing economy such as ours because of a shared belief. I must pause here to give a resounding applause to you, our dear parents. E ku ise, mma mma nu, sanu ku da aiki. Your sacrifice, your budgeting, and your unwavering commitment to paying school fees despite the economic squeeze are the reasons we are gathered here today.
The theme for the 9th graduation ceremony is “BUILDING A SAFE COMMUNITY: Today’s AWARENESS AND SUSTAINABLE EXCELLENCE” We recognize that achieving and sustaining excellence can better be achieved in a safe and secured environment. To this end, our slogan is “Safety and excellence, a shared responsibility”. This aligns well with the graduation theme. I am proud to report that our academic milestones this year have been nothing short of stellar. In the external examinations; NECO, WAEC, and JAMB, our students did not just pass, they conquered. We recorded a 90% distinction rate in core subjects placing our school among the top tier nationwide. We commit to up scaling and sustaining the enviable achievement. The focus during the period was not only about academics, but also on character molding and intensified skills acquisition and entrepreneurial programs. Our students have learned the basics of coding, tailoring, catering, and robotics. The goal was to ensure a child graduates grounded, admittable, skilled and with a solution mindset.
To my incredible team of educators and support staff, you are the engine room of this institution. There is a Nigerian proverb that says, “A single hand cannot lift a calabash to the roof.” Everything we celebrate today is a testament to your sweat, your patience, and your dedication. Dealing with a classroom full of energetic children requires a special kind of anointing! You have been mentors, surrogate parents, counselors, and cheerleaders. You stayed back late to tutor struggling students, you pushed the brilliant ones to excel, and you did it all with a smile. Thank you for buying into our vision.
To our Stars of the Day, “the Diamonds in the Pack”, you are the reason we are gathered here. Shortly, we will be rolling out the drums to celebrate those who have excelled in the various categories. To those who will be stepping up to this podium to receive prizes today, Congratulations! Let this recognition be a fuel to spur you to even greater heights. To those who did not make podium finish, do not be discouraged, go back to the drawing board, work harder, and I am sure, very soon, it will be your turn to shine.
To our senior graduating classes; SS3 and SSS3 students, look at the world with confidence, remember the training you received, the discipline, the prayers, and the values. Be our ambassadors. Be our pride.
In concluding, as we look forward to the next academic session more determined and with greater zeal, management has already concluded plans to upgrade our laboratories, library, and technological infrastructures for better delivery. We shall continue to count on our stakeholders’ partnership. Let us continue to monitor what your children watch on television and what they do on social media. Remember, safety begins with awareness; awareness of our environment, awareness of our responsibilities and awareness of how our actions affect others. The school can only build on the foundation you lay at home. Together, there is no height our children cannot attain. Once again you are welcome, relax, enjoy the presentations and the full fun day.
